The AI Now Policy Institute is a 501(c)(4) organization formed in 2026 that drives political and policy campaigns to challenge and reimagine the current trajectory for AI. We are an advocacy organization that drives a path forward on AI that serves the needs of the people over profit. The AI Now Policy Institute does not take funding from corporate donors, including the tech companies whose practices and products our work is dedicated to examining.

The AI Now Policy Institute does not currently take funding from corporate donors, including tech companies whose practices and products our policy work is dedicated to examining. We are committed to the principles of transparency, intellectual freedom, and integrity of our community and allies.
Our current funding comes from foundation support, listed on this page. In general our funding is structured to support our broad policy and advocacy goals and is not earmarked to specific projects. We don’t allow our funders or the institutions with which we’re affiliated––past or present, corporate, foundation-based, or educational––to dictate our areas of work or influence our findings and recommendations. We believe our track record speaks to this commitment.
